چکیده

This paper presents the magnetoelectric (ME) effect in trilayered Ni/PZT/Ni composites which is related to their size and shape. The ME composites with the same interfacial areas but different geometrical shapes have different ME voltage coefficients. Longitudinal resonant modes in the rectangular and triangular trilayered ME composites were studied. One should choose optimized size, shape and working frequency of the ME composites in order to gain the maximum ME effect. This study plays a guiding role for trilayered ME composites design for real applications. (Some figures in this article are in colour only in the electronic version)

Resonant modes and magnetoelectric performance of PZT/Ni cylindrical layered composites

Resonant modes and magnetoelectric performance of layered PZT/Ni and Ni/PZT/Ni cylindrical composites are considered. The first and the second resonant frequencies in the 1–150 kHz range correspond to the axial and the radial modes. Experimental results and theoretical analysis indicate that one should choose the trilayered structure and the first resonant frequency as the working frequency. Th...

Electro-deposition current density effect on Ni/PZT layered magnetoelectric composites performance

This paper considers the magnetoelectric (ME) effect in Ni/PZT layered ME composites that is related to the preferred crystallographic orientation of electro-deposited Ni layers. The Ni electro-deposition rate increases with applied cathodic current density. High (1 0 0) texture in the Ni layer was obtained at either low or high current densities, which improves the ME composite’s performance. ...

Electrical and Mechanical Performance of Zirconia-Nickel Functionally Graded Materials

In the present work, six-layered (Zirconia/Nickel) functionally graded materials were fabricated via powder metallurgy technique (PMT). The microstructure, fracture surface and the elemental analysis of the prepared components were studied, and their linear shrinkage, electrical conductivity, fracture toughness and Vickers hardness were evaluated. The results show that the linear shrinkage of t...

The magnetoelectric effect in Ni-Fe alloy/ZnO nanorod array composites.

Ni-Fe alloy/ZnO nanorod composites were fabricated and the magnetoelectric effect was demonstrated. The ZnO and Ni-Fe alloy serve as the piezoelectric phase and the magnetostrictive phase in the nanocomposite, respectively. Since the nanorod structure possesses the inherent nature of a large surface-to-volume ratio, it greatly enhances the interplay between the piezoelectric and magnetostrictiv...
